These things we write, so that our joy may be made complete. What we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life-Īnd the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us.

We can’t claim to walk in the Light if our life is characterized by the darkness of a sinful lifestyle or we’re holding onto anger, bitterness, or resentment toward others.Īre you trying to carry old baggage into your walk with the Lord? The attitudes, habits, and conduct that were yours before Christ must be abandoned in order for you to walk with God. To walk with the Lord in His Light, we must confess and forsake sin, pursue righteousness, and obey His commands.

For instance, Noah walked with God by having a relationship with Him through faith (Gen. Scripture uses the term “walk” to describe the course of a person’s life. But then, when we don’t follow it, we’re surprised to see that He’s walking in a different direction than we are. In the Scriptures, He gives us guidance for life. Walking with someone when you cannot agree on the direction or goal is frustrating, yet that’s exactly what we sometimes try to do with God.
